Chef Kozue Maye — Flavor-Driven, Globally Inspired, Farm-Fresh
Trained by her grandparents — traditional Japanese chefs — and mentored by Japanese chefs specializing in Italian cuisine, Chef Kozue brings a delicate yet bold flavor approach to every plate. Her food celebrates balance, color, and the “eat the rainbow” philosophy she championed as a Former WVU Extension Family Nutrition Program Health Educator for Preston County.
During her time with the program, she earned both the Rookie of the Year Award and the Miracle Grower Award in two consecutive years, recognizing her excellence, innovation, and commitment to improving community nutrition — before the entire department was shut down due to state funding cuts.
She also grows seasonal edible flowers to garnish and elevate each dish with farm-to-table freshness.
Chef Mike Maye — Fire, Smoke & Real Mountaineer Food
Mike creates what he calls “man’s food” — dishes built on heart, heat, and pure satisfaction. He welds his own custom BBQ rigs, builds smokers from scratch, and invents cooking technology no one on this planet has tried before.
His worldwide touring years as a Stage Manager exposed him to authentic foods across continents, shaping his bold, rugged cooking style.
When Kozue & Mike create together, their flavors come together like peanut butter & jelly — totally different, yet magically perfect.
